Daniel Heeke

A celebration of life for Daniel Lorne Heeke of Lake Wildwood will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Calvary Bible Church, Colfax Highway in Grass Valley. Burial will be at Sierra Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Nevada City.

Mr. Heeke died Wednesday, Feb. 4, in Penn Valley, from a massive heart attack. He was 63.

He was born Aug. 1, 1940, in Port Huron, Mich., to Lorne Heeke and Millie Klump. He received a B.S. in biology and M.S. in education from the University of Michigan and a Ph.D. in education from the University of Oregon. He married Brenda Bollier on June 26, 1965, in Port Huron, Mich. He worked for the San Mateo School District from 1963 to 1981 and was a certified financial adviser from 1981 to 2004. He was a member of the Calvary Bible Church and the Lake Wildwood Association. He enjoyed tennis, hot air ballooning, photography, traveling, boating and gardening.



He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Brenda; sons and daughters-in-law Brett and Lynda Heeke, and Darren and Lori Heeke; sister and brother-in-law, Carole and Bob McMeekin; nieces Lori Plutchak and Cheri Hoffman; and grandchildren, Cameron and Kendahl Heeke, and Dillon and Ashley Heeke. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorne and Millie Heeke.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Hospice of the Foothills.




Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
