Dance the night away at Cooper’s

OF, a high-energy music experience full of funk and flow, conscious rhymes, and shake-your-tail beats, will be having some fun with its fans tonight at Cooper’s.

Hailing from all across the U.S., OF’s members include vocalists Chad Conner and Grace Totherow. Chad, a dancin’ fool, works with Nevada Union High School students to create performance poetry.

The band also includes seasoned percussionist Keith Gaurkee; trap set player Ben Bodine, formerly of the psychedelic rock ‘n’ roll band Cosmic Wobble; Hayes Burris, who drops intricate bass licks all over the rhythms; and guitarist Seth Miner, who offers fine chord progressions and fierce leads.

OF members promise that folks will remember their lyrics long after the show is over and the dancing stops.

Friday, Daniel Castro, hot blues guitar master from the Bay Area. $5 cover.

Saturday, Jackpot and opening act Golden Shoulders, alt/rock edgy pop from Sacramento. $5 cover

Sunday, 2-5 p.m.. NASCAR 4 Lane Slot Car Racing fun with computer control! No cover.

March 15, Ted Nash & Odeon play tango, klezmer, New Orleans Second Line style jazz. $20 cover.

March 16, Soulmedic, Jahworks and DJ Purefiya – a reggae dance hall showcase. $3 cover.

All weeknight shows are 8 p.m.Ð11 p.m. (8:30-ish to midnight or depending upon the crowd).

All weekend shows are 9:30 p.m.Ð1 a.m. (occasionally a tad longer if the band is grooving).
