Dana William Reed died June 25 in Grass Valley. He was 55.

Services were held on June 28 at Crossroads Church in Grass Valley. Cremation will take place.

Mr. Reed was born Oct. 21, 1952, in Inglewood to Mr. and Mrs. William Reed. He graduated from the University of California at Irvine in 1974 with a degree in Information and Computer Science. He married Marie Reed on May 31, 1980.

Mr. Reed was a partial owner of the software company Sierra Mine Technology. He enjoyed road and mountain biking, motorcycling, downhill skiing, camping, hiking, playing the guitar and banjo, reading, woodworking and working on cars.

Mr. Reed is survived by his wife, Marie Reed of Nevada City; sons Scott and Andy Reed of Nevada City; parents, William and Alma Reed of Orange; brother, Douglas Reed of San Clemente and sister, Holly Williams of Lake Forest.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary in Nevada City.
