Dan Logue’s response

To Dan Logue: I appreciate your upright directness in response to Jeff Ackerman’s piece about the letter of the “three former Republican chairmen” concerning Sue Horne.

Thanks for letting us know they “have a right to their opinion” (being “upstanding Americans,” of course). Wow. Heavy artillery.

Also, it is noble to defend Mr. Ackerman’s right to voice his own opinion. Horatio at the bridge! (I must have missed where people said he didn’t have that right.) Thanks for leaving the paltry Sue Horne affair and rushing to the defense of the First Amendment. (Some cynics may say that you are avoiding the issue by displaying a convenient and irrelevant liberality of sentiment, but that’s their opinion.)

You wisely leave it to others to determine whether the liberal Sue Horne is liberal and will compromise with liberals. (Let the others sling the mud, I say.)

Thanks for being so forthright and un-liberal.
