Two arrested in connection with heroin sales

A man and woman reportedly found using heroin behind a pharmacy Dumpster ended up in jail on sales charges as well.

A Grass Valley Police officer was on foot patrol behind the pharmacy on Sutton Way at about 3 p.m. and saw two people using heroin, said Sgt. Joe Matteoni.

A subsequent search of Barbara Laurel Sanders, 23, and Marshall Anthony Hodges, 29, reportedly uncovered more than 60 syringes, baggies, a scale, marijuana, $2,000 in cash and approximately 12 heroin-soaked cotton swabs.



Sanders and Hodges both were arrested and charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance, possessing a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and possessing a controlled substance for sale. Both were being held in county jail in lieu of $41,500 bail.
