An drunken driver was arrested Tuesday afternoon after witnesses followed him to a gas station, took his keys and parked his vehicle, authorities said.

A caller reported a reckless driver eastbound on Highway 20 east of Pleasant Valley Road just before 2 p.m., according to dispatch reports.

The caller reportedly followed the vehicle to the gas station, and the driver was relieved of his keys and vehicle.

When a California Highway Patrol officer arrived, the man reportedly was sleeping in the bushes.

Jakob Ryan Rogers, 29, of Penn Valley, reportedly had multiple prior DUI convictions. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and DUI with prior, as well as violating probation. He was being held in lieu of $77,500 bail.
