Pot, jewelry stolen in home robbery

Two women were threatened by men with handguns as they were robbed in the Yuba County foothills early Thursday.

Seven suspects took jewelry, cash and approximately five pounds of processed marijuana from the residence in the 15000 block of Alleghany Road, said Yuba County sheriff’s Lt. Brandon Barnes.

One of the victims attempted to follow the suspects in a vehicle but stopped after one of the suspects shot at her near the North San Juan area of Nevada County, Barnes said.

The robbery occurred at about 5:40 a.m.

The suspects were described as black males wearing dark pants and dark zip-up style jackets with hoods. They wore makeshift bandanas over portions of their faces.

They drove two black, midsize passenger vehicles.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Sheriff’s Department at 749-7777 and ask for the Investigations Unit.
