Police blotter: Neighbor threatens woman with slingshot

Friday

9:59 a.m. ­— A caller reported a man sleeping near a business on the 700 block of Freeman Lane; the caller said when the man wakes up, he starts screaming at walls.



11:05 a.m. — A caller on the 150 block of Arcadia Drive reported an abandoned trailer.

1:16 p.m. — A caller reported a man sleeping in a park on the 200 block of Bank Street.




2:27 p.m. — A caller reported several transients smoking and loitering in front of a bank on the 300 block of Brunswick Road.

4:42 p.m. — A man with sagging pants and a large knife on his belt was reported staggering near the entrance of a grocery store on the 2050 block of Nevada City Highway.

8:36 p.m. — A caller reported a shoplifter who ran out of a grocery store on the 100 block of Neal Street.

9:01 p.m. — A caller reported a suspicious van in the parking lot of an apartment complex on the 300 block of Pleasant Street.

9:17 p.m. — A caller reported a “creepy” man loitering in front of a business on the 500 block of Crown Point Circle.

Saturday

12:24 a.m. — A caller reported a man rummaging through trash cans near a park on the 400 block of Central Avenue.

12:29 a.m. — A man was spotted looking into cars around the 100 block of Pleasant Street.

7:19 a.m. — A caller reported a man sleeping on a couch that had been put outside for sale on the 600 block of South Auburn Street.

7:46 a.m. — A man was spotted sleeping in front of a building on the 600 block of South Auburn Street.

1:43 p.m. — A call reported a backpack and laptop had been stolen from an unlocked car in front of a grocery store on the 2050 block of Nevada City Highway.

5:36 p.m. — A caller reported someone beating a dog in a parking lot on the 2050 block of Nevada City Highway; authorities were unable to locate the person or dog.

6:30 p.m. — A dog inside of a Jeep parked in a lot on the 100 block of South Auburn Street knocked the car into neutral; the car was secured by placing a rock under the tire.

7:33 p.m. — A caller on Wendy Circle was approached by three people in an unmarked white van offering to clean carpets.

9:38 p.m. — A caller reported a man lurking in the shadows on the 200 block of Colfax Avenue.

1:46 a.m. — A man smashed a window at a motel on the 400 block of South Auburn Street.

9:53 a.m. — A caller reported three cows near Big Spring Drive and Long Ravine Road that appeared to be “skin and bones.”

11:05 a.m. — Authorities received a 911 call from a woman on the 16900 block of Lake Vera-Purdon Drive who said she was just testing the number to make sure it worked.

12:21 p.m. — Someone stole a purse from an unlocked car on the 23500 block of Woodhaven Place.

1:07 p.m. — A suspicious vehicle was reported near Karen Lane and Majestic View Court.

4:01 p.m. — A caller on the 18100 block of Alexandra Way reported a neighbor was shooting squirrels.

4:06 p.m. — A caller reported squatters who had been sleeping in the parking lot of a church on the 10100 block of Flume Street for the past two months.

4:46 p.m. — A woman was spotted sleeping in a car near Willow Valley Road and Nevada Street.

5:06 p.m. — A caller on the 10060 block of High Street told authorities a truck had been in the neighborhood earlier that morning visiting all of the properties that are growing marijuana; the caller thought the occupants of the truck were looking to steal the pot.

6:06 p.m. — A caller on the 13400 block of Twin Star Lane told authorities her neighbor had pointed a sling shot at her while yelling expletives.

8:08 p.m. — A brown pickup truck was spotted spewing excessive pollution into the air near the Highway 49 on-ramp at La Barr Meadows Road.

11:45 p.m. — A caller at a bar on the 29300 block of Highway 49 reported a man hiding near the bar’s back entrance after the business closed.

Saturday

1:35 a.m. — A caller on the 12300 block of Crescent Drive reported hearing voices and seeing flashlights at the end of the street.

3:19 a.m. — A caller reported a man sitting in the middle of the street near Alta Sierra Drive and Ball Road.

4:10 a.m. — A caller on the 10100 block of Pittsburg Road reported a bear on his property; he was able to scare the animal off.

10:02 a.m. — A woman was swearing and throwing rocks at customers in front of a cafe on the 29300 block of Highway 49.

11:53 a.m. — A caller reported a man dressed in all black, drinking out of a bottle and acting suspiciously on the 21800 block of Big Oak Drive.

1:05 p.m. — A man stole road cones near Brunswick Road and Loma Rica Drive.

3:40 p.m. — Authorities received a 911 pocket dial; a woman in the background was talking about strawberries.

7:46 p.m. — A caller reported a group of kids hanging around six cars in a parking lot near Magnolia Road and East Hacienda Drive.

9:36 p.m. — A caller reported a woman slamming doors and hitting washing machines in the laundry room of a trailer park on the 10200 block of School Street.

10:49 p.m. — Two men in a dark car were spotted searching through mailboxes on the 14200 block of North Bloomfield Road.

Sunday

4:38 a.m. — A caller near Tyler Foote Crossing and Clarks roads reported a loud house party nearby.
