Nevada County Police Blotter: Rabid, aggressive skunk reported

Tuesday

7:16 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Sutton Way reported theft from a vehicle. It was unknown if the vehicle was locked.

8:43 p.m. — A caller from the 700 block of Maltman Drive reported an unknown amount of transients camped out under the stairs.

8:50 a.m. — A caller from the 500 block of Whiting Street reported someone tried her screen door on Saturday night and then she heard a whistled signal Monday night.

12:22 p.m. — A caller near the corner of Maltman Drive and Olympia Park Road reported a man punching a woman in a vehicle. Officers were unable to locate anyone.

3:30 p.m. — A caller from the 1400 block of East Main Street went to the store and then came home to find his door broken down and several items including his bong missing. The caller said four men pulled up in a vehicle when he was leaving, and the caller believed they were involved. The caller was somewhat uncooperative.

4:48 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of South Auburn Street reported "crazy lady" was just in the business refusing to leave but just left.

7:51 p.m. — A person was stopped on the 800 block of Sutton Way. A person was arrested on charges of battery on a spouse or ex spouse, shoplifting and camping in city limits.

4:55 a.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Mill Street reported someone stealing trash.

Tuesday

7:50 a.m. — A caller from Highway 49 reported a rabid, aggressive skunk on her property.

8:08 a.m. — A caller from Slate Creek Road reported ongoing vandalism and suspects appear to live in the area. A case had been taken earlier in the week regarding the vandalism.

8:57 a.m. — A caller from Slate Creek Road reported a neighbor put "rubbish containers" on the caller's property in violation of a court order and also trespassed to do so.

10:37 a.m. — A caller near the corner of Rough and Ready Highway and Bonanza Way reported a man going through the mailboxes.

11:48 a.m. — A caller from Oak Hollow Road Circle hung up. On callback the caller reported a verbal fight with her 32-year-old daughter. The daughter said she made the call because her vehicle had been stolen, not because of a fight. The original caller called back and she was saying there was no fight as well but the daughter was still very agitated over her vehicle missing. A stolen vehicle report was taken.

12:34 p.m. — A caller from Highway 20 reported two dogs were back on his property that had killed several cows two months ago.

2:43 p.m. — A caller from Newtown Road reported a man pulled up to the caller's mailbox and then drove off fast toward Highway 49. The caller couldn't tell if he opened the mailbox due to trees blocking the view.

4:50 p.m. — A person was stopped on Nevada City Highway. A person was arrested on charges of two counts of failure to appear.

8:35 p.m. — A caller from Christopher Robin Way reported ding-dong ditchers for the second night in a row. The caller didn't see anything else or hear anything.

9:19 a.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Broad Street reported a man smoking drugs, possibly methamphetamine.

6:06 p.m. — A caller near the corner of Commercial Street and Broad Street reported someone just lit a floating lantern in the air.
