Nevada County Police Blotter: Possibly driverless vehicle backs into bushes

Grass Valley Police Department

Monday

7:43 a.m. — A caller near the corner of Bank Street and Hansen Way reported transients camped under an overpass. The caller was provided with the business line number.



8:07 a.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Dorsey Drive reported wanting to know the name of the officer that contacted her the other day. The caller was very argumentative about calling the business line and sounded like she had possibly been drinking. The caller called back on the business line and continued to argue and be belligerent.

9:21 a.m. — A person in the police department lobby reported multiple credit cards that were dumped on the 400 block of East Main Street by a transient.




9:42 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Carriage Lane reported someone drained her koi pond and left her fish to die.

10:09 a.m. — A caller from the 200 block of West Main Street reported two transients broke his car window the previous night after the caller wouldn’t let them use the restroom. The caller wanted a log entry only but wants to let the officers know there are hoodlums in Grass Valley.

12:30 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Bennett Street reported someone broke out the back window of a residence. The caller didn’t think entry had been made.

2:42 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Mill Street reported a stolen vehicle. The caller called back to say the vehicle was parked in a different spot and was not stolen.

4:32 p.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Whiting Street was concerned with three juveniles riding around unsafely on their bicycles.

4:38 p.m. — A person was stopped near the corner of Bennett Street and East Main Street was arrested on charges of a probation violation, possession of a controlled substance, possession of controlled substance paraphernalia and possession of paraphernalia.

6:12 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Harris Street reported a neighbor had a burn pile going and was known to shoot off a shot gun. The caller thought she heard the shot gun but didn’t have a visual. The fire was extinguished.

6:50 p.m. — A caller from the 800 block of Sutton Way reported theft from a store and the caller had the subjects on camera.

Tuesday

3:04 p.m. — A caller near the corner of West Main Street and South Church Street reported he was just hit in the back with a baseball bat. The caller said he was walking with a friend and they lost contact with one another and he didn’t know the status of his friend. An assault report was taken.

Nevada County Sheriff’s office

Monday

8:56 a.m. — A person in the sheriff’s lobby reported a chop shop and gun shop.

1:42 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Voyageur Way reported burglary to a residence during the weekend. The caller wasn’t on scene but would be within about 30 minutes.

1:44 p.m. — A person on the 11000 block of Lime Kiln Road was arrested on charges of failure to appear and license requirements.

5:47 p.m. — A caller from the 17000 block of Cherry Creek Road reported her mother just kicked her out and said she was going to call law enforcement on the caller for stealing her own property. The caller requested contact with an officer. The caller was also advised of 911 usage.

6:53 p.m. — A caller from the 17000 block of Highway 20 reported something knocked the phone box off an exterior wall of her residence. The caller didn’t know if it was a tree falling or something else. She was asked if she wanted to speak with a deputy or have a log entry and she said she just wanted them to get to the bottom of everything. The caller never indicated she wanted any contact. A log entry was taken.

7:50 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Combie Road reported a woman thinking someone was trying to poison her slowly. The woman was given a ride home.

9:23 p.m. — A caller from the 13000 block of Brooks Road reported an accidental dial. A wife reported she thought he said to dial 911, but they were talking to someone outside that was asking to borrow the phone.

11:03 p.m. — A caller near the corner of Rough and Ready Highway and Bonanza Way reported a vehicle just backed into the bushes and it was unknown if anyone was inside the vehicle.

Monday

12:03 p.m. — A caller from Broad Street reported a transient wrapped in a white blanket punched a glass door and broke the door.

4:29 p.m. — A caller from the 400 block of Spring Street reported a man hit something out of the caller’s hand. The caller was bruised and denied medical. The disturbance was over parking spaces and the situation was mediated.

8:17 p.m. — A caller near the corner of Broad Street and Sacramento Street reported three shots heard. An arrest was made on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a controlled substance and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia.
