Nevada County Police Blotter: Not happy with the bad stench of DNA

Grass Valley Police Department


7:57 a.m. — A caller from the 1100 block of Sutton Way reported someone sleeping in front of an entrance.

9:01 a.m. — A person in the Grass Valley Police Department lobby reported a noise complaint. Workers were power-washing the sidewalk on the 300 block of West Main Street at 5:30 a.m.

9:44 a.m. ­— A caller from the 200 block of Cypress Hill Drive reported fraudulent charges on his debit card.

12:39 p.m. — A caller from the 700 block of Freeman Lane reported someone just ran out of the store with a pair of jeans. It ended up being an issue with a metal detector.

6:04 p.m. — A caller from the 1700 block of Main Street reported transients screaming at each other from under a deck. The caller thought they were gone but wanted an officer to check.

6:16 p.m. — A caller from South Auburn Street reported three or four people passing around something and smoking it. Officers found no crime being committed.

7:39 p.m. — A caller from the 400 block of Henderson Street reported a woman came in and made crazy statements and left. The woman was driving with a hand over her face, arm out the window and yelling about the bad stench of DNA.


4:13 a.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Sutton Way reported a man possibly on drugs pacing back and forth, acting strangely. A man was arrested on charges of being under the influence of a controlled substance and loitering.

1:12 p.m. — A caller from Mountain View Drive reported vandalism to a vehicle during the night.

1:43 p.m. — A caller from Carrie Ann Lane reported there had been two people on top of his roof on and off for the last two weeks.

2:32 p.m. — A caller from Brunswick Pines Road reported two large dogs coming onto the caller’s property and bothering the livestock at night.

5:24 p.m. — A caller from Woolman Lane requested a log entry referring to her son attempting to break in the previous night.

10:20 a.m. — A caller from Church Street reported a woman shooting up in a vehicle in a disabled parking spot behind the courthouse.

1:08 p.m. — A caller from Maidu Avenue reported a “strange” man walking around yelling and talking to himself.
