Nevada County Police Blotter: Multiple callers report gunfire around county

8:29 a.m. — A caller on McCourtney and Wolf Mountain roads reported traffic backed up at the transfer station nearly caused a collision.

9:03 a.m. — A caller on Mooney Flat Road and Country Heights Drive reported a sign near his driveway was vandalized with a racial slur. Extra patrol was requested.

10:10 a.m. — A caller on Airport and Sheriff roads reported a cat attacked her and was trapped in her residence, leaving her unable to get back in. The woman was bleeding but did not need medical attention and the cat eventually left her house.

11:23 a.m. — A man was arrested on suspicion of spousal abuse after a caller on Gray Oak Drive and Maplehurst Lane reported he threw a bottle at the caller while he was holding a child, and the bottle hit the child in the head.


10:18 a.m. — A caller near Scotts Flat Lake boat ramp reported two days prior a man assaulted him with his fists for hanging out with his ex-wife and threatened to do it again.

12:23 p.m. — A caller on Lakeshore North and Sunset Ridge Drive reported his newspaper has been stolen out of his mailbox for the past two days. Extra patrol was requested.

2:15 p.m. — A caller on Ridge Road and Canyon View Drive reported a naked man has been lying face down on his deck all day. A report was taken.


12:07 a.m. — Multiple callers from Ridge Road and Rough and Ready Highway reported four to six gunshots. Nothing was located.

6:37 a.m. — A caller from Elnora Drive reported the possible theft of a package.

12:34 p.m. — A caller from Sebastopol and Sweetland roads reported a cabin had been broken into with items stolen. Locks were broken and a door was smashed.

3:24 p.m. — A caller from Highway 49 and Birchville Road reported a woman with Alzheimer’s had been missing for at least an hour. At 4:01 p.m., a CHP officer reported she had been located near Ivey Lane.

6:22 p.m. — A woman from Combie Road reported the theft of a phone.

7:20 p.m. — A man from Alls Well Place reported a drunken woman hit him in the face. She was arrested on suspicion of battery on a spouse, being drunk in public and resisting arrest.

7:58 p.m. — A man reported a mountain lion on his property.

8:27 p.m. — Several callers from Wheeler Acres Road reported multiple gunshots.

8:33 p.m. — A caller from Tobacco and New School roads reported hearing yelling and shooting. No one was located.

11:32 p.m. — A person on Broad Street was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public and resisting arrest.


4:49 p.m. — A man was cited on suspicion of urinating in public on East Broad and Main streets.
