Nevada County Police Blotter: Man yells profanities, later blows loud instrument

Grass Valley Police Department

Thursday

11:49 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of South Church Street reported a transient passing in front of a business, making people feel uncomfortable.



2:03 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Colfax Avenue reported a possible drug deal. The caller said three people got in a vehicle with out-of-state plates and left. Officers were unable to locate the subjects.

2:21 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of South Auburn Street reported a vehicle in a lot with a dog inside and it was determined to be 99 degrees inside. The owner arrived and said the vehicle’s air conditioner was on but quickly realized it was not. The owner was counseled and animal control arrived and provided cool water for the dog.




4:23 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of South Auburn Street reported a person trying to stash drugs in an electrical box.

4:50 p.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Freeman Lane reported a vehicle without placards in a handicap spot. The vehicle was cited.

6:06 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Sutton Way reported a heavyset man wheeling Kenny’s bike into the brush Tuesday morning.

6:17 p.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Leduc Street reported a man trespassing on the property. The caller said he was disrespectful and not listening to her, but not violent. The man had permission to be on the property.

6:20 p.m. — A caller from the 700 block of Sutton Way reported two men in an argument. One was upset because a business was closed.

7:07 p.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Minnie Street reported people making threats to the caller. The suspects were “acting a fool.” Officers found a mutual verbal altercation.

8:28 p.m. — A caller from the 1000 block of Whispering Pines Lane reported two or three people in a vehicle and was nervous about them breaking into a building.

8:40 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Mill Street reported five or six juveniles smoking out of a glass contraption.

11:12 p.m. — A person was stopped and arrested on charges of a probation violation and possession of a controlled substance.

11:21 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Mill Street reported several people in a fight.

Nevada County Sheriff’s Office

Thursday

8:17 a.m. — A caller from Chaparral Circle reported doing his monthly check of his lifeline service. The caller had a poor connection and was advised to contact lifeline for maintenance. He was also advised of 911 usage.

8:33 a.m. — A caller from the 20000 block of Johnston Drive reported a vehicle on the neighbor’s property. The house was having construction/yard maintenance.

9:01 a.m. — A caller from the 16000 block of McCourtney Road reported the neighbor’s pigs have gotten out again and caused major damage to his farm.

10:25 a.m. — A caller from the 14000 block of Taylor Foote Crossing Road requested extra patrols due to various theft of construction items and siphoning gas.

10:42 a.m. — A caller from the DEA just received a call from a man advising he was very frustrated with people growing marijuana in the neighborhood and he was going to shoot his neighbor. Dispatch found no criminal threats. The person was concerned with him and his family’s safety due to extensive marijuana grows in the area and the dangers attributed with grows. The person was referencing using self defense if necessary.

1:15 p.m. — A caller near the corner of Hydraulic Way and Mooney Flat Road requested extra patrol at night due to suspicious people hanging around in the area.

4:10 p.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Taylor Foote Crossing Road reported violation of a restraining order. The caller said the person punched someone. The caller said the person had the caller’s keys and wouldn’t return them, then stole the vehicle. The caller later said the person was laying on the ground very drunk. An arrest was made on charges of a warrant for second-degree burglary.

8:15 p.m. — A caller near the corner of Slate Creek Road and Ridge Road reported two vehicles parked on the side of the road where there was no reason for them to be. Officers weren’t able to locate the vehicles.

8:17 p.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Lakeshore South reported burglary to a residence that happened while the caller was away. A downstairs sliding glass door was broken. Officers found only one pane of glass was broken and no entry into the residence. The glass was possibly inadvertently broken by an item from a nearby golf course.

10:59 p.m. — A caller from Cedar Way reported a man yelling profanities as loud as he could.

Friday

3:06 a.m. — A caller from Cedar Way reported the person from earlier was outside blowing a loud instrument.

Thursday

10:44 a.m. — A caller from the 800 block of Zion Street reported a sandwich bag with white powder on the sidewalk.

3:19 p.m. — A caller near the corner of Champion Mine Road and Roger Williams Ravine reported a man in the road yelling profanities for the last 30 minutes.

5:27 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of King Hiram Drive reported coming home to find a smoldering tree stump behind her house. The caller was using a water hose to put out the fire.
