Nevada County Police Blotter: Fight over not answering phone ends in arrest

8:48 a.m. — A caller from the 200 block of South Church Street reported finding drug paraphernalia on the roof of the church.
9:36 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of West McKnight Way requested extra patrols after finding several needles in the parking lot.
10:40 a.m. — A caller from Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital reported an unruly male patient breaking items.
11:49 a.m. — A caller reported possible squatters in a vacant residence.
12:09 p.m. — A caller from Maltman and Joerschke drives reported three men trying to break into a mailbox cluster with a machete. The report was unfounded.
12:28 p.m. — A caller reported an attempted burglary.
2:16 p.m. — A caller reported a fraud.
2:48 p.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Sutton Way reported a man who shoplifted items and then threw them back at the manager.
3:09 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Sutton Way reported a propane leak.
5:03 p.m. — A caller from the 800 block of West Main Street reported a physical fight involving three men. A juvenile was arrested on suspicion of battery.
6:18 p.m. — A caller from a business in the 2000 block of Nevada City Highway reported hearing a loud pop in the back with smoke filling the room. The fire department responded.
6:22 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of West McKnight Way reported a man broke out the window of a truck and drove away. He could not be located.
9:12 p.m. — A person was cited for having an open container on Tinloy and Bank streets.
6:02 a.m. — A caller reported two men and a woman in a vehicle stole mail.

12:53 a.m. — A caller from Coyote Street reported a woman on a 72-hour drug binge refusing to leave, banging on the windows.
8:15 a.m. — A caller reported child abuse.
8:27 a.m. — A caller from Nancy Way reported the theft of a tool bag.
9:16 a.m. — A caller from Black Road reported a fraud with $720 pulled from a bank account.
1:10 p.m. — A caller reported bullying and indecent exposure by a student at Ready Springs School.
2:28 p.m. — A caller from Goldbug and Gas Canyon roads reported hearing multiple high-powered gunshots.
2:55 p.m. — A caller from Flume Street reported the theft of construction items.
4:25 p.m. — A man from Auburn and Kiwi roads reported he shot two dogs that killed his chickens. He was not sure if the dogs were injured. A report was taken.
4:45 p.m. — A caller from Nevada City reported a dog was bitten by a coyote.
5:55 p.m. — A woman from Sky Pines Road was screaming that a man was hurting her and she was going to press charges. He said she was upset that he did not answer her phone call when she tried calling him at work to tell him about a PG&E scam. The man was arrested on suspicion of damaging a cell phone.
6:41 p.m. — A caller from Rollins View Drive reported an argument with a man yelling at a woman and the woman “returning fire.”

8:57 a.m. — A man from Lower Grass Valley Road reported a credit card taken from a stolen vehicle was used last night at a gas station. The vehicle had been recovered but the credit card was still missing.
10:54 a.m. — A caller from a business in the 400 block of Railroad Avenue reported stolen jewelry.
