Help sought in mystery of missing moose head

The Placer County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a historic moose head, which was recently stolen from a popular North Lake Tahoe resort.

On Jan. 22, between midnight and 7 a.m., a suspect or suspects entered the lobby of the Sunnyside Resort in North Lake Tahoe and stole the mounted moose head, which is an icon for the historic resort.

Anyone with information on this burglary or the whereabouts of the moose head are urged to contact Det. John Lasagna at the Placer County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division, Tahoe City, at 530-581-6323.



Anyone with information and who wishes to remain anonymous and earn up to $1,000 in cash reward should contact Placer County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-923-8191, or at http://www.placercrimestoppers.com.
