Man accused of raping former girlfriend

A Grass Valley man accused of rape remained Friday in the Nevada County Jail under $400,000 in bond, authorities said.

Nicholas Patrick Carlozzi, 26, also faces charges of oral copulation, false imprisonment, battery and a probation violation, Nevada County Jail records state.

Authorities said they arrested Carlozzi Thursday at his Mockingbird Way home after the victim, who had dated Carlozzi for about six months, told deputies she’d been raped.

Lt. Rob Bringolf said the victim went to Carlozzi’s home on Tuesday to collect some money he owed her. She told authorities on Wednesday that Carlozzi held her against her will and raped her.
