Couple arrested after reported fight in Grass Valley

A man and woman ended up in custody after Grass Valley Police officers responded to reports of them fighting Sunday morning.

Several calls were received just before 9 a.m. regarding the couple, who were reportedly in a physical fight at Dorsey Drive and Sutton Way, said Sgt. Clint Bates.

Officers responding to the area found a woman identified as Brandy Blomgren, 20, lying in the road, Bates said. She reportedly was uncooperative and tried to leave, and was physically restrained by officers. Meanwhile, the man was trying to obstruct the officers and subsequently also resisted arrest, Bates said.

The man, identified as Gabriel Rosencrans, 20, complained of pain from an earlier vehicle crash, while Blomgren complained of pain from being taken into custody, Bates said. Both were medically cleared.

Blomgren reportedly then began kicking the door of the patrol vehicle, causing extensive damage. She was charged with resisting arrest and vandalism, was booked and released on $2,000 bail. Rosencrans was booked and released on suspicion of resisting arrest.
