Cow, come home: Betsy the cow reported missing

Betsy, a black and white wooden cow, has disappeared from the Old Barn Self Storage facility that is visible from the freeway near the Idaho Maryland exit.

The manager of the facility, Lew Abersold, said Betsy went missing Saturday night while they were at the Nevada City Chamber of Commerce installation dinner.

She is described as being about 4 and 1/2 feet tall, on a wooden post.

Betsy was part of a pair of cows near the “Happy” display on the hill in front of the storage shop. The remaining cow, Betsy’s mom, can still be seen from the freeway.

Old Barn Self Storage is located at 175 Springhill Drive.

Anyone with information leading to the return of Betsy is asked to call 274-4455.
