County seeks return of surveys for sewer treatment repairs

The County of Nevada is conducting a survey in the Penn Valley and Cascade Shores area in support of an application to the Community Development Block Grant program.

If awarded, funds will help to offset the costs of necessary repairs to the respective sewer treatment systems. Surveys were recently mailed, and due to the deadline of the grant application, survey recipients are urged to return them as soon as possible.

County staff will also be in the two communities surveying residents on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday.

Once a sufficient number of surveys are collected, the county will move forward and use the information to prepare an application for funding one of the two systems. Individuals with questions can contact Cheryl Rubin, Nevada County Housing Division senior administration analyst at 530-265-7256.
