Council brings fire topics to public meeting

Mapping of fire hazards and designations of fire routes will be discussed by foresters and the state fire marshall at the Regional Council of Rural Counties Thursday morning.

The public meeting will take place at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, June 21 at the Holiday Inn Express in Grass Valley.

Kate Dargan, State Fire Marshall will discuss the Fire Hazard Mapping Process and Jim Pena, Deputy Regional Forester for the U.S. Forest Service will provide an update on Fire Route Designation Issues.



The Regional Council of Rural Counties consists of 30 California counties that share rural interests. Collectively, the association represents 44 percent of California’s land mass and 2.5 million residents. Nevada County Supervisor Sue Horne is Chairperson of the board.
