Cornelis Bouwman

Private family services for Cornelis “Dutch” Bouwman of Grass Valley will be conducted.

Mr. Bouwman died Wednesday, May 10, in Grass Valley. He was 65.

He was born on Aug. 22, 1940, in Laren, North Netherlands, to Gijsbertus and Johanna Bouwman. He served in the Air Force. He married Barbara on May 6, 1983, in Colfax. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad after 33 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking, and gardening.



He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Grass Valley; son, Kevin Bouwman of Citrus Heights; daughter, Kiemberly DiCarlo of Folsom; step-son, James Hochanadel; step-daughter, Teresa Halbert; mother, Johanna Bouwman of Ontario; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Gijsbertus Bouwman; mother, Johanna Bouwman; brother, Tony Bouwman; and sisters Ineka and Edith.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary.
