Cora Bruner

A celebration of life for Cora Lee Bruner of Grass Valley will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Ridge Baptist Church.

Mrs. Bruner died Monday, Feb. 7, in Grass Valley. She was 96.

She was born July 14, 1908, in Washington, D.C., to Arthur and Cora L. (Mills) Luskey. She graduated from the eighth grade and married H.L. Bruner on Sept. 5, 1923, in Alexandria, Va. She worked in the office at Max Co. She was a member of the Cedar Ridge Baptist Church for 17 years. She enjoyed knitting and reading.

She is survived by her daughters Mary E. Hardy of Grass Valley and Helen E. Hodges of Denver, Colo.; sister, Mary Eckard of Washington D.C.; six grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, H.L. Bruner; sisters Annie, Helen, and Nettie; and parents, Arthur and Cora Luskey.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cedar Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
