Cooper’s has live entertainment on tap

A lot is happening this week at Cooper’s in Nevada City, so here’s the lineup.

Modern folk music lovers always love Paul Kamm and Eleanore MacDonald & The Little Band, featuring Mikail Graham and Albert Vasquez, playing today at 8 p.m. with a $3 cover.

Mystafya, Northern California’s favorite reggae band, carries the message of love, unity and wisdom and is playing Friday at 9:30 p.m. There is a $5 cover. The group;s new CD is in the top 10-20-30 list on the Web.



KVMR nightLIVE is featuring Ábucho!, who combine elements of rock, jazz fusion, hip-hop, all the way to straight up funk; and Diego’s Umbella, which opens with Latin, folk, and blues, Saturday at 9:30 p.m. $5 cover.

For all of you performers and appreciaters, Open Mike Night, with host Albert Martinez takes place Tuesdays, starting 8 p.m.-ish. No cover charge.




Ragged But Right, Americana Old-Time String Band, plays next Wednesday, (Feb. 2), 8 p.m. No cover.

For those who plan ahead, a week from now (Feb. 3), The Sweatshop Band from Idaho (bluegrass, funk, reggae, and inspired jams), 8 p.m. No cover.
