Continuation school students stand out in exit exam scores

Students of Silver Springs continuation school in Grass Valley have shown the most significant improvement in the California High School Exit Examination scores this year in the entire high school district, Superintendent Ralf Swenson said Monday.

The Exit Exam tests sophomores in math and English Language Arts, Swenson said. All students must pass the exam to graduate from high school, he added.

At Silver Springs High School, the pass rates have jumped from 55 percent last year to 67 percent this year in Math, and from 59 percent to 70 percent in English.



– Nevada Union High School ” 96 percent of the sophomores passed the math portion of the test, 94 percent passed the English section.

– Bear River High School ” the pass rates were 94 percent in both math and English.




– Ghidotti Early College High School ” 97 percent passed in math and 95 percent passed in English.
