Consequences of evil

I am one of the American citizens who is having a difficult time with his country and current president. My difficulty centers around George Bush’s pride in being a man of action without reflection. “No couch for me,” he was recently quoted as saying.

A teacher of mine says all evil is rooted in unconsciousness. I know mine is, how about yours? The consequences of evil is of course compounded when one has the power of the U.S. President.

My despair is increased with my belief that we are about to reelect this non-reflective leader. It is, at times, hard for me to believe that the electorate will vote for self acknowledged superficiality. Then I remind myself that we as a culture are based in superficiality, one liners, spin, and bogus promises that our life style will be maintained and our security assured.

The boy president exists because we insist on remaining indulged children. If we grow … our growth would demand that we have a president who grows too and provides inspiration for new solutions to old problems.
