Conklin abused power

Thirty-five or 40 years ago, my grandparents were caretakers at the North Star House. I was able to spend a lot of time there with my grandparents. I have great memories of spending some nights in that big old house with my grandparents. I for one would love to see the place turned into a state park like the Empire Mine.

I think it is great that Bruce Conklin is trying to restore the old house. How he got Mr. Dryden J. Wilson’s money seems pretty shady to me. Sounds like Mr. Wilson’s money is not being used as he intended it to be used. Because of the slippery way Mr. Conklin received this money, it has left a very sour taste in some of your Nevada County residents’ mouths.

Jeff Ackerman has every right to write about this, since Mr. Conklin is running for office in the county. Mr. Conklin has a lot of friends that are backing him up, saying what a great person he is. It’s just that it would be very wrong of me to vote for someone who abused his power as a supervisor.
