Competition is toast

This humorous mosaic piece, called “Let’s Toast,” created by Grass Valley artist Jenni Iams-McGuire, won the award for Best 3 Dimensional Mosaic at the Mosaic Arts International Exhibition being held in Mesa, Ariz., through April – quite an honor, considering that only 62 pieces were selected from 397 entries by artists from six countries in a show sponsored by the Society of American Mosaic Artists.

Iams-McGuire, who teaches through the Sierra College Community Education Program, uses mirror glass, handmade ceramic tile and glass tile and beads, as well as pebbles, in her art. See more on her Web site: http://www.mosaicgarden.org.
