Commuting Libby’s sentence act of hubris

Just before Independence Day, George W. Bush chose to commute Scooter Libby’s prison sentence.

The sheer hubris of his action in this matter is disgusting. Bush’s get-out-of-jail-free card was played just one day after meeting with Vladimir Putin to discuss, among other things, democracy in Russia. After flouting his supposed superiority and moral authority, our dictator-in-chief trampled our own judicial system by allowing his friend to go free; so much for the state of our democracy.

This is yet more evidence that Bush and Cheney need to be impeached. Celebrate your independence by calling your representatives in Congress and asking them to impeach the criminals in the White House by supporting House Resolution 333.
