Community voice for animals

To all those in our community who sponsored the Sept. 30 fundraiser and open home tour of my rebuilt home for the homeless dogs and cats for Sammie’s Friends, please know how much your contribution means to the animals and those of us who care about their welfare.

The Union newspaper, its management and staff; many local businesses, such as Nevada City Winery, Fred’s Chinese Restaurant, The New Moon, the Grey Goose, Serenity for the Senses, Lilly Vigil’s Gallery, Reflections Skin Oasis, Feet First, Liz Russo, and many many more.

In addition, our Nevada City chief of police volunteered his services for an auction item, which was won by a local woman for her husband’s birthday gift. This is the kind of respectful, caring law enforcement that makes living in this town so pleasant.

Thanks to each of you who, through this event or in other ways, help the animals in our community throughout the year. Since they cannot speak for themselves, on their behalf, a big ARF (and meow) to all of you.
