Comic to headline GV show

Comic Rick Pulido occasionally wrote for Jay Leno and the Tonight Show for 15 years.

He doesn’t like to do that anymore because, he said Tuesday from his Citrus Heights home, the material he’s writing is getting better and better, and he’d rather use it himself.

Pulido, who recently appeared on Que Locos, a comedy show seen nationally on Galavision, will headline Comedy Night this Saturday at the Holbrooke Hotel in Grass Valley.

His jokes focus on the way he views life.

“I’m Latin, so that comes out,” Pulido said. “I also do a lot of men and women, dogs and cats things.”

Pulido performs every week in the western United States and Canada.

Doors open Saturday at 8:30 p.m.; the show starts at 9 p.m. in the Iron Door Room. The Holbrooke Hotel is at 212 W. Main St., Grass Valley.

Admission is $8 in advance and $10 at the door.

Call 263-4544 for reservations or information.
