Comic promises to get ‘cartoonish’

Robin Cee gets funny Saturday in Grass Valley.
ALL | GrassValleyArchive

Robin Cee is getting back at her family.

Growing up in New York’s Bronx, she was not allowed to watch TV.

Several years later (although she won’t cop to exactly how many), Cee earns her living in Oakland as a comedian whose humor resembles an adult-TV cartoon.

She is Saturday’s featured comic at the Holbrooke Hotel.

“I don’t cuss but I have a silly, cartoonish flair,” said Cee. “Kids think I’m an overgrown kid.”

She’s going on 10 years as a comedian. Before that, Cee was a tour guide in Los Angeles and had “a lot of fun chasing down stars.”

Now she’s telling jokes on the road or as an instructor at a traffic school in the Bay Area.

Doors open Saturday at 8:30 p.m.; the show starts at 9 p.m. in the Iron Door room. The Holbrooke is at 212 W. Main St., Grass Valley.

Admission is $8 in advance and $10 at the door.

Call 263-4544 for reservations or information about Comedy Night. Go to the Web site at http://www.robincee.biz for more information about her.
