It was award night at the Annual International Speech Contest and all was abuzz.

Jessica Cymbalski started the evening off with a moving tale of “The Last Burning Day,” describing her father back in Alameda County.

Marjorie Quist encouraged us to keep our choices – our baggage light but well-defined in her speech “Packing for the Journey.”

Imants Kaulpe dazzled us with his foreign language prowess reciting several ways to say thank you in his speech titled “You’re Welcome.”

Glen Boire persuaded us to continue our growth in “As Time Goes By” giving us several methods keep our minds active by continually exercising the gray matter.

Glen was voted as the speaker who best met his objectives. Jessica was right behind him. Glen will go on to the local contest coming up soon. The public is invited!

We meet at 6:45 p.m. on Mondays at 640 E. Main St. in Grass Valley (behind Valet Cleaners). For more information, call Jessica 263-2768.
