Club news: Mother Lode Toastmasters

Richard Bannister started us off with a humorous account of his latest trip to the emergency room with his daughter. In his speech, “Almost an Emergency,” Richard’s expressions and gestures kept us laughing as he told us in detail what it takes to get care outside of our county. Richard was voted best speaker this evening for this amusing tale.

Valleri Wilhelm’s speech titled “Good Egg” educated us in the composition, grades and storage of eggs. She even dispelled some myths.

Gary Peterman enjoyed receiving the top award for his evaluation of “Good Egg,” which will help him increase his egg consumption.

Glen Boire took the cake for his snappy repartee in our Table Topics part of the meeting.

Come and join us for some laughs and self-improvement at the Mother Lode Toastmasters meetings. We meet at 6:45 p.m. every Monday in the office behind Valet Cleaners at 640 E. Main St., Grass Valley. For more information, call Jessica Cymbalski at 263-2768.
