Club news: Empire Toastmasters

I stumbled, I stuttered, I broke out in a sweat! I forgot everything I wanted to say! I want to run and hide! These are all common reactions to the No. 1 fear of adults: Public Speaking.

But Toastmasters does more than just help you become a better speaker. Even if you don’t have to make presentations or conduct meetings in your current life, participating in weekly Toastmaster meetings with the warm support of friendly faces and positive tips, works even more magic.

You start feeling more confident. And confidence leads to ideas that maybe you hadn’t considered before. And suddenly you feel braver and step out in ways you never thought you could.

Bring a tall tale or joke Friday at 1 p.m. for a special St. Patrick’s Day potluck at the Coyote and Highway 49 Fire Station in Nevada City. For more information call Robin Lloyd at 272-7111.
