Club news: Early Risers Toastmaster

Lively Shawn Tuttle was our Toastmaster – and she masterfully set the stage for three powerful speeches.

This week’s trophy winner, Anne King, gave us true and funny insights about how to train our dogs – using a pack of stuffed toy dogs to demonstrate. Cheryl Domnitch enthralled us with a dramatic interpretive reading from “I am Charlotte Simmons.” Toni Morris gave us a ‘dress rehearsal’ of a speech she’ll be making soon to a group of teens about what happens after graduation. Her ‘no-holds-barred’ presentation focused on dealing with the pressures of peers, expectations, drugs and other influences – and how to deal with them.

Sylvia Pichitino’s evaluation was voted ‘outstanding.’ Lori Burkhart Frank’s imaginative use of the word of the day, ‘eccentric’ won her the table topics trophy.

If you have to speak at an upcoming event, Toastmasters will help you be your best. Join us Tuesday morning, at 6:30 a.m. at Trolley Junction. As a guest, you only have to speak if you want to. For more information call 273-9777 for more information.
