Clifford Thorson

Services for Clifford G. Thorson of Nevada City will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Peace Lutheran Church in Grass Valley.

Mr. Thorson died Tuesday, June 8, in Nevada City. He was 91.

He was born Jan. 27, 1913, in Stanley, N.D., to Tom and Bessie (Miller) Thorson. He graduated from high school in Hazen, N.D. He married Olga on Dec. 21, 1968, in Grass Valley. He was self employed. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite, Ben Ali Shrine, and the Gold Unit Shrine Club. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Olga Thorson of Nevada City; son and daughter-in-law, Clifford Michael and Elsa Thorson of Alexandria, Va.; step daughters and sons-in-law Patricia and Clyde Northrop of Andalusia, Ala., and Kathleen and Ted McCade of Sacramento; sister, Laureen Brown of Walnut Creek; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Paul and Catie Thorson; granddaughters and grandsons-in-law Jennifer and Chad Barber, and Sharon and Mark Price; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas Thorson; sister, Evelyn Milbourne; and brother, Thilmore Thorson.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
