Mr. Shill died Sunday, April 4, on Whidbey Island, Wash.

He was born in England in 1931. He was a chef in Beverly Hills and also cooked for Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital for many years. He was a former resident of Grass Valley before moving to Whidbey Island.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughter, Susan of Vancouver, Wash.; son, Kevin of Sacramento; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
