Claudestino Pereyra-Nieves

Claudestino Pereyra-Nieves died Oct. 1 in Los Gatos, Calif., after a long illness. He was 82.

No service will be held.

He was born Oct. 6, 1927, in Rivera, Uruguay. In 1963, he brought his family to the United States, and settled in Santa Clara, Calif.



Claudestino was a strong and loving man, and had a love of life that inspired those around him. His love of plants, flowers and exotic trees led to several articles in newspapers. He was very active in the Grass Valley Growers Market.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mildred Pereyra of 61 years; children, Asly, Alfredo and Daniel; daughters-in-law, Cathy and Denise; grandchildren, Alfredo Raul, Christian, Angelo, Brent and Daniel; great-granddaughter, Taylor; six brothers; one sister; and several other family members.




The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Herman Health Care Center in Willow Glen, Calif.
