Clara Redding

Graveside services for Clara Ann (Roddy) Redding of Grass Valley will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Gretna, La.

Mrs. Redding died Friday, Dec. 13, at Golden Empire Convalescent Hospital. She was 96.



She was born on Nov. 2, 1906, in Houma, La., to James Louis and Mary Jane (Dorsey) Roddy, and graduated from high school. She married John Frank Redding in 1927 in Houma, La. She was a housewife. She was a charter member of First Baptist Church of Marrero, La. She enjoyed sewing and gardening.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Louis A. and Wilma Redding of Penn Valley; daughter, Beverly Redding DeForest of Sevierville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.




She was preceded in death by her husband, John Frank Redding Sr., in 1967; and son, John Frank Redding Jr.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary and the Mothe Funeral Home in Marrero, La.
