Twin Cities Church

Twin Cities Church is beginning a new message series this Sunday titled “Walking Wisely.”

This will be a series that will help kick-off the New Year. Pastor Ron Thompson’s first message will be “Seeking God’s Wisdom.”

Twin Cities meets every Sunday morning at the Veteran’s Hall in Grass Valley at 255 S. Auburn St. They offer two services – 8:45 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.

They have childrens classes at both services. Junior high students meet at 8:45 and high school students meet at 10:45 a.m.

Unity In The Gold Country

The message at Unity In The Gold Country on Sunday will be “Higher Than Heaven,” given by the Rev. Joe Sloan.

The Unity Choir will debut this Sunday. Services are held at 10:30 a.m. at Esterly Hall (Board of Realtors Building, lower level) located at 336 Crown Point Circle in Grass Valley.

A potluck and Christmas Pageant will follow.

Youth church meets at the same time across the street in the Spiritual Learning Center at 333 Crown Point Circle, Suite 215.

There will be a traditional Bowl Burning on New Year’s Eve at 7:00 p.m. All are welcome to this special service.

New series at

Sierra Center for Positive Living

The topic of the Rev. Sandra Fairbanks’ first talk in the new series, “Letting Go and Growing Forward,” is “The Magic Word,” at the Sierra Center for Positive Living, a Religious Science church. January birthdays will be celebrated Sunday.

The celebration begins at 10:30 a.m. at Banner Grange Hall, 12629 McCourtney Road in Grass Valley. Songwriter-singer Jim Townsend, will lead the congregational music.

Junior Church and Tween/Teens meet during the service.

You are invited to stay for refreshments and conversation following the service.

A World Healing Meditation service on Dec. 31 will be held at the Banner Grange at 6:00 a.m.

Poetry and singing at Universalist Church

The public is invited to sing and hear poetry at the Unitarian Universalist Community of the Mountains 11 a.m. Sunday.

Listen to the poetry of Jody Hughes and sing “Morning Has Broken,” “Tis a Gift to be Simple,” “Love Will Guide Us,” “Spirit of Life” and other songs. Florence Armour will play the piano. Michele Lester will coordinate the service.

Following the service will be a potluck for all.
