Chubby Checker to perform in Grass Valley

To celebrate 50 years of the twist, The Center for the Arts will present rock ‘n’ roll pioneer Chubby Checker in concert on Saturday, September 11, at Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Grass Valley.

Chubby Checker is the only artist to have five albums in the Top 12 all at once and the only artist to have a song (“The Twist”) hit No. 1 twice, once in 1960 and again in 1962. His first platinum album was “Let’s Twist Again.”

Today, Checker continues 40 years of live performances while releasing new studio music. His maxi-single “Limbo Rock Re-Mixes” and CD “The Original Master of the Dance Hall Beat” by Chubby C & OD, featuring Inner Circle, were both on the Billboard Charts attracting a new generation of Chubby Checker fans.
