Chicago Park 4-H club wants you

Chicago Park 4-H is looking for some great kids to join in the fun.

Have you ever had a question about a farm animal? Have you wondered which came first, the chicken or the egg? What about why those pigs like to get in the mud and take a bath? Do you ever wonder if a bunny can talk? Do you know how to build a rocket that can really fly?

These questions can be answered by a member of the 4-H club from Chicago Park. The new 4-H year will be starting soon, and we would like to help our community become aware of the great programs 4-H offers.

You can investigate many projects: poultry, swine, horses, dog obedience, sewing, arts and crafts, birdhouses, rabbits, rocketry, steer, sheep, shooting sports, woodworking and cooking. We have some wonderful leaders who have spent as many as seven years teaching kids about these projects. And yes, by the way, if you listen closely, bunnies do purr or grunt to make themselves heard.

Come and join us at our enrollment meeting at 6 p.m. on Oct. 21 at Round Table Pizza on Sutton Way in Grass Valley. Our new year starts soon, so come join in on the fun.
