Check the facts before voting in presidential election

All American presidential elections are important; the election of 2008 is very important!

Our country stands at a most significant crossroads – do we continue as we are or do we chart a new course?

While our economy struggles, we are involved in a war in Iraq costing $10 billion a month, gas prices are $4.50 a gallon, many have lost their homes to foreclosure and many others are threatened with the same.

Meanwhile, our national debt has increased from 5.76 trillion dollars in 2000 to 9.5 trillion dollars as of today – a debt that will fall on the shoulders of our posterity.

Acknowledged, then that this election is important, equally important is electing a national leader who can chart a different course for our country.

That puts a grave responsibility on the shoulders of every voter, no matter their political affiliation.

It would seem crucial that before each vote is cast that it be based on clear and factual information.

I ask the voters of Nevada County to check out all information disseminated by both presidential campaigns on FactCheck.org and then base your voting decision on the facts.
