Charlotte Hartley

According to her wishes, no public funeral service will be held for Charlotte M. Hartley. Mrs. Hartley passed away quietly at home on May 28. She was 89.

Mrs. Hartley was born April 30, 1918, to August and Pearl Glodowski in Buhl, Idaho. She grew up in Portland, Ore., but returned to Idaho to attend business school.

Mrs. Hartley took a job as a bookkeeper in Twin Falls, Idaho, where she met her future husband, Marvin.



The couple was married in 1947. They lived in Idaho for 11 years and then in Berkeley for 20 years. After retirement, they moved to Grass Valley, where they enjoyed this community for 29 years.

Mrs. Hartley is survived by her husband, Marvin; daughter and son-in-law, Carole and Bruce of Saratoga; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Ann of San Carlos, Mexico; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.




Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 2399 Nevada City Highway, Grass Valley.
