Charlie’s Cafe fundraiser starts today

The Union staff

Starting today, Charlie’s Cafe will give 10 percent of its proceeds to Campus Crusade for Christ to support the ministry in Japan of Nevada City man Robin Carr.

The fundraiser will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today through Saturday, Oct. 3. The restaurant is at 145 S. Auburn St., downtown Grass Valley.

Carr, a graduate of Nevada Union High School and recent graduate from the University of California, Santa Barbara, already spent five months in the country to study the culture and language. He plans to leave by Oct. 8 and will be in Tokyo for 10 months working in college ministry, meeting students at five institutions and planning events.

People can donate to Carr’s mission by contacting him at (530) 265-0742 or robinhoodoftheworld@gmail.com, or giving online at Give.ccci.org.

Carr is the son of John and Margie Carr, of Nevada City.
