Charles Murray

A celebration of life for Charles Walter Murray of Grass Valley will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 30 at the Holbrooke Hotel in Grass Valley.

Mr. Murray died Thursday, April 14, in Grass Valley. He was 75.

He was born Aug. 12, 1929, in Harbor City, to Charles Francis Murray and Mildred Eckard. He was a corporal in the U.S. Army. He married Johnnie Lee Leeder in September 1950. He was a retired truck driver. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with Lee, target shooting, and socializing with friends.



He is survived by his son, John C. Murray of Grass Valley; daughter-in-law, Kathleen L. Murray of Grass Valley; granddaughters Katheryne A. Kopp of Nevada City, and Kristina Lee Roach of Reno, Nev.; grandsons Charles Adam Kopp of Nevada City, and Thomas Huston Murray II of Eli, Nev.; great-grandson, Owen Michael Tassone of Nevada City; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie Lee Murray in 1988.
