Charles Richard “Dick” Cox died Sept. 10.

Memorial mass will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Sept. 15, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 237 Church Street in Grass Valley. A reception will follow in the church hall.

Dick was born July 12, 1934, in Globe, Ariz. He was raised in San Francisco by his grandparents. He attended Portola Junior High School and Balboa High School, graduating in the spring of 1952.

He worked for United Airlines for 37 years, retiring in 1991 from SFOLM.

Dick was the beloved husband of Georgia; father of Michael (deceased), Lawrence and David; grandfather of Samson, Rose Lynn, Michael (whose mother is Lynn Kenny) and Christopher (whose mother is Judy Cox); great-grandfather of Alexis Higginbotham; brother of Calvin, Clyde, Bonnie and Billy Lux (deceased), and brother-in-law of Sandy, Judy, and Richard Augustson.
