Charles Deranleau

Memorial services for Charles Deranleau of Grass Valley will be conducted at a later date. Burial will be at Richland, Wash.

Mr. Deranleau died Saturday, July 20, in Grass Valley. He was 91.

He was born on April 30, 1911, in Benchland, Mont., to Henry and Elizabeth Deranleau. He attended school in the state of Washington. He served in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific as a radio operator from Nov. 4, 1942, to Oct. 3, 1945.



He married Viola on Nov. 9, 1967, in Madras, Ore. He was a dry land wheat farmer and enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Viola Deranleau, of Grass Valley; daughter, Donna Savory of Los Angeles; son, Roy Deranleau of Scottsdale, Ariz.; stepson, William Lewis of Penn Valley; stepdaughters Patricia Lewis and Marie Paull of Penn Valley; and foster daughter, Kay Jones of Othello, Wash.




He was preceded in death by his sisters Marie in 1988, Lillian in 1999 and Rose in 2002; brother, Lucian in 1993; and daughter, Geraldine in 1993.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
