The theme of Nevada City’s 36th annual Constitution Day Parade, which tromped down Broad Street Sunday afternoon, was “A Nation of Heroes.”

After a re-enactment of the Founding Fathers’ signing of the Constitution, the parade lasted about two hours, presided over by Grand Marshal Dennis Cassella.

Cassella retired this year after a 23-year career with Nevada County government.
