Cecelia Christenson

Private graveside services will be conducted for Cecelia “Sis” Christenson of Nevada City. Burial will be at Forest View Cemetery in Nevada City.

Mrs. Christenson died Monday, Oct. 21, in Nevada City. She was 89.

She was born Oct. 2, 1913, in Nevada City to Charles and Celia (Muscardini) Genasci. She was raised and attended school in Nevada City and graduated from Nevada City High School in 1931. She graduated from Mount St. Mary’s Business School in Grass Valley

She was a stenographer and secretary for Hoge Development and attorneys W.E. Wright and John Larue before marrying Leon Christenson. She was a member of St. Canice Catholic Church and sang in the choir when she was younger. She enjoyed an occasional trip to North Shore to gamble and liked to work in her yard.

She is survived by her sister, Josephine Wright of Nevada City. She was preceded in death by her husband and sisters Florence Ramsey and Verna Paris.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
